Typical Push-Plate Clutch Fault Analysis
Fault Symptoms and Causes
Slippage (Weak Acceleration/Surging Speed)
Main Causes: Friction plate worn to the point of rivet exposure, weak pressure plate spring, or oil infiltration;
Incomplete Disengagement (Difficulty Shifting Gears)
Main Causes: Excessive pedal travel, air intake in the hydraulic system, or deformation of the pressure plate;
Abnormal Noise (Metallic Scratching)
Main Cause: Damaged release bearing, broken friction plate buffer spring.
Test Method
Slippage Test: Apply the handbrake, shift into 3rd gear, and slowly release the clutch. This is normal.
Travel Test: Pedal travel should remain between 10-15mm (mechanical).
Preventative Recommendations: Avoid prolonged partial clutching;
Check friction plate thickness every 60,000 kilometers (limit 1.5mm).
